Indigenous Empowerment Fashion Collective

Rhonda, a proud member of the Treaty 8 Bigstone Cree Nation in Alberta, Canada. She is a trailblazer in First Nations fashion, seamlessly blending traditional artistry with contemporary design. Rhonda designs under her label, Acahkos Designs – “Ahh-Chah-Kos,” the Cree word for Star.

From an early age, she was immersed in land-based teachings, where her passion for arts and textiles first took root. Her journey led her to Edmonton, where she pursued her education in fashion, graduating from the Fashion Design and Apparel Production program in 2006.

Through her designs, Rhonda has become a powerful voice for Indigenous representation, sharing stories of resilience, identity, heritage, and healing. Committed to sustainability, she pioneers the use of upcycled materials, weaving environmental consciousness into the very fabric of her brand.

From the runway to community events, Rhonda is dedicated to uplifting Indigenous voices through fashion to leave a lasting impact on the industry. Her work has garnered widespread recognition, not only for its artistic excellence but also for her advocacy in promoting diversity and cultural awareness.
